Former NFL player and current NBC Sports Analyst Chris Simms has once again surprised NFL fans with his unconventional quarterback rankings.
This time, he released his rankings for the 2024 NFL Draft, with North Carolina’s Drake Maye surprisingly at the bottom of the list.

Simms is known for his bold evaluations of quarterback prospects, having famously chosen Zach Wilson over Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Simms ranks Caleb Williams at the top, followed by Jayden Daniels.
The third spot goes to Bo Nix, which is a departure from consensus rankings. Simms also lists Michael Penix Jr. and J.J. McCarthy before placing Maye at the sixth spot in a tier by himself.
Simms believes that six quarterbacks being taken in the first round is unlikely. Simms plans to explain his rankings in an upcoming podcast.
His rankings challenge the established order and could have an impact on how NFL teams evaluate quarterback talent.
The Minnesota Vikings, known for thorough scouting, are likely considering all six prospects in their draft preparation.
