The Seattle Seahawks made headlines on March 6, 2024, by releasing Free Safety Quandre Diggs alongside Jamal Adams. This strategic decision is expected to save the Seahawks a substantial $27.5 million in cash and create valuable salary-cap space for the team.
A veteran with the Seahawks since 2019, Diggs originally joined the team after beginning his career with the Detroit Lions. The announcement of his release took a cheeky turn when Diggs took to X (formerly Twitter), humorously writing, “Got fired on my day off. Damn,” accompanied by a lighthearted gif.
The tweet quickly gained traction, amassing over 2 million views.
