“Josh would love to be in a Chicago Bears uniform” Rumors Swirl as Star Running Back Josh Jacobs Expresses Mutual Interest in Joining the Chicago Bears

Rumors have been floating around the NFL community that Josh Jacobs has a significant interest in the Chicago Bears.

Notably, Jason Mckie, a well-known Chicago Bears radio sideline reporter, dropped a hint about Jacobs" affinity for the Bears.

If Jacobs were to sign with the team, it could lead to intriguing possibilities for the upcoming season.

What makes this a fascinating storyline is that Jacobs’ agent asserted there"s a mutual interest between the player and the Bears.

While this statement in no way confirms Jacobs" joining the Chicago Bears during the free agency, it does affirm the interest on both sides.

"I know from his standpoint, Josh would love to be in a Bears uniform," McKie said before revealing that his agent represents Jacobs as well. When McKie brought up the idea of Jacobs playing in Chicago, the agent had quite the response. "I texted him [Jacobs] would look great in a Bears uniform. He’s like, ‘hey, there’s mutual interest.’

After five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, 2022 marks the first time Jacobs has entered free agency.

It gives him a chance to explore new opportunities after a somewhat weaker season, having completed only 805 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.

Despite his recent setbacks, Josh Jacobs remains a sought-after commodity in the free agency market.

After a sensational 2022 season, where he led the NFL with 1,653 rushing yards and scored 12 rushing touchdowns, Jacobs is still considered one of the top running backs available.

General manager Ryan Poles, who has a whopping $44 million in cap space available for the Bears following the Jaylon Johnson franchise tag, has expressed interest in investing in a running back during this free agency period.

The Bears might have their eyes on Jacobs, a player with a market value of $10.5 million next year, according to figures on Spotrac.

Selecting Jacobs could be a significant step for the Bears and create a strong pairing with Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert.

Curiously, Jacobs was originally picked during the 2019 NFL draft using one of the first-round picks that the Bears traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in the Khalil Mack trade.

As such, it would be quite a story for Bears fans to see Jacobs don the Bears jersey.
