In an intriguing twist to the NFL free agency drama, it has emerged that first-time free-agent Saquon Barkley might possibly be prepared to continue his professional journey within the division.
The running back, who scored a touchdown for the New York Giants last season, has his eyes set on the Philadelphia Eagles.
The New York Giants have opted against placing the franchise tag on Saquon Barkley for the second consecutive year.
Consequently, a misstep that might come back to haunt Giants’ general manager, Joe Schoen.
If Barkley does remain within the division, the Giants will inadvertently strengthen a rival team, a scenario Schoen would rather avoid.
As reports suggest, the Philadelphia Eagles have shown significant interest in Barkley, generating rumors of a potential signing when free agency begins next week. And it seems, the feeling is mutual.

Some have proposed this eagerness as just a negotiation tactic, however, the potential of remaining in the northeast and securing a large contract presents an ideal outcome for the running back.
Aside from the excitement around Barkley’s talent, the Eagles would enormously benefit from having one of the NFL’s most dynamic players in their backfield.
This move could very well provide the missing piece in the Eagles’ roster.
