“The focus is just football” Houston Texans Secure Star Tight End Dalton Schultz with a Whopping Three-Year, $36 Million Deal

The first-team-all-PAC-12 of 2017 talented tight end of the Houston Texans, Dalton Schultz, has reportedly signed with the Texans squad as he wants to continue playing with one of the most prominent rookie quarterbacks, C.J. Stroud.

After a stint with the Dallas Cowboys from 2018 to 2022, Dalton Schultz made a move to the Texans squad last year, where he inked a one-year deal. Recently appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Schultz revealed that a significant factor motivating his decision to stay is the impressive performance of rookie sensation C.J. Stroud, who has been making waves with his remarkable season.

According to Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk, Schultz shared, “To have a guy come in like that, step in, take the reins and hit the ground running, C.J.’s quickly cemented himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the league. Talking to C.J., the amount of belief and trust he has in himself, the way he carries himself, he does special things. That was a big part of me wanting to come back. I wanted to surround myself with guys like that. Guys that galvanize a football team, and I think he absolutely does that. It’s a great time to be a Texan and I’m super excited that I’m back.”

He further continued, “When you see a quarterback that’s able to make every single throw again and again and again, and stay humble about it and realize he’s not quite there. Through all the success he was having, he kept going back to, ‘How can I get better, though?’”

Moving further in the season with Stroud, according to the tight end, has been intriguing, as the prominent quarterback showed noteworthy talent last year and will keep on improving further.

Schultz has signed a three-year $36 million deal with the Texans this week to remain with the squad. Stroud had also won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year as he registered 63.9% of his passes for 4,108 yards, including 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions, as per Yahoo Sports.
