Philadelphia Eagles and NFL legend Fletcher Cox has hung up his jersey, marking the end of an illustrious 12-season career on Sunday.

The news broke through a heartfelt message he posted on Instagram, paying tribute to not only the fans but also thanking the coaches, teammates, organization leaders, his family, and friends who supported him throughout his journey.

Fletcher Cox’s journey to the NFL began in 2012 when the Philadelphia Eagles brought the former Mississippi State star on board as their No.12 overall pick in the first round of the draft.

The 33-year-old quickly proved himself, tallied 5.5 sacks in his rookie season, starting his career on a high note.

Over his 12 seasons, Cox accumulated an impressive record of 519 tackles, around 70 sacks, and 16 forced fumbles.

Proving his mettle time and again, Cox earned himself six Pro Bowl selections throughout his career.

His exceptional play not only earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl but also elevated him to All-Pro status.

The star defensive tackle was named a first-team All-Pro once and a second-team All-Pro three times.

One of the highlights of Cox’s illustrious career was undoubtedly helping the Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl glory in 2018.

The Eagles took on and defeated the New England Patriots coached by Bill Belichick – this remains a crowning moment in both Cox’s career and the Eagles’ history.
