P.J. Locke, Denver Broncos safety, is looking at a secure future with the team following a two-year, $7 million contract.

According to multiple reliable reports, Locke’s new deal possibly places him in the enviable position of a starting safety for the Denver Broncos.

With P.J. Locke likely set to become a permanent starting safety for the Broncos, the team’s defensive line has been substantially revamped.

He’s expected to start alongside Caden Sterns, who suffered a torn patella in the opening week last season.

However, Sterns is tipped to make a full recovery and return stronger for the 2024 season.

This new contract for Locke comes on the heels of several significant changes in the Broncos’ safety lineup.

In notable moves, veteran safeties Justin Simmons and former starting safety Kareem Jackson were released earlier in the year.

Simmons had started 15 games last year, while Jackson was cut off owing to repeated suspensions for illegal hits.

Last year, P.J Locke stepped up on behalf of Jackson during his suspension period. His impressive on-field performance seems to have caught the attention of the Broncos’ management.

His consistent skills, tenacity and professional conduct during his fill-in period have most likely influenced this year’s decision to offer him a more permanent role.

With Locke’s contract renewed and Sterns expected to return as fit as fiddle, the Broncos’ defence team seems promising.

This strategic contract not only spotlights Locke’s contribution but also promises a more reliable and dynamic safety duo for the 2024 season.
