Thirty-one-year-old wide receiver Tyler Lockett and his long-term team the Seattle Seahawks have come together in a strategic shift.
The team has agreed to revise Lockett’s contract, securing him a place on the roster and paving the way for Seattle’s strong 2024 season.
Lockett’s refurbished deal encompasses a two-year term with a base value of $30 million. In addition, Lockett could earn up to $4 million in incentives, with nearly $13 million guaranteed for the season ahead.

He initially had two years and a non-guaranteed $34 million remaining in his previous 2021 extension, which stipulated him to earn $17 million both in 2024 and 2025.
Seattle Seahawks, after parting ways with Jamaal Adams, Bryan Mone, Quandre Diggs, and Will Dissly, had around $42 million in spare money.
Originally, Lockett’s upcoming 2024 salary cap hit was slated to be $26.895 million, stirring rumors that he might be pruned to manage the cap.
Still, the agreement on the new contract breaks away from the speculation, assuring him of nearly $13 million in guarantees and a potential to earn his scheduled payment over the next two years if he hits the targets in his agreement.
In spite of breaking his streak of four straight 1,000-yard seasons and five consecutive seasons with a minimum of eight touchdowns, Lockett managed to secure 79 passes for 894 yards and five touchdowns last season.
Drafted by Seattle in 2015’s third round, Lockett now boasts 612 career receptions for a whopping 7,994 yards.
These figures situate him just behind Hall of Famer Steve Largent, embedding him as a franchise icon.
