Twins batting sensation Auston Martins believes his coach and GM Rocco Baldelli is the real deal.
According to Overtime Heroics senior editor Reggie Roberts, Martins talks of the GM fondly. “The guy wants to win.”
He further told Roberts; he is full of praise for what he calls the “Player’s Manager” in Baldelli.
As the number five overall pick in 2020 by the Bluejays, much was expected of the big hitter. Under Baldelli the team looks to have a solid base to work with.
When asked to give his thoughts in a broader context he said, “You can tell that he is competitive. He’s definitely a player’s manager in that he looks out for his guys”.
Martin is known for his big hitting, and this saw him signed by the Toronto Blue Jays before making his way to the Twins.
The short stop spent much of 2023 on the injured list due to damage suffered to his right elbow.
