Houston Rockets Alperen Şengün exits court in wheelchair after suffering leg injury

Houston Rockets center Alperen Şengün suffered a significant leg injury in the fourth quarter, leading to his departure from the court in a wheelchair during Sunday"s matchup against the Sacramento Kings.

The incident occurred late in the game when Şengün attempted to contest Domantas Sabonis on a fast break layup following a Houston turnover.

Unfortunately, the 21-year-old center landed awkwardly on his left leg, immediately signaling distress. The training staff rushed to his aid, and after a few agonizing minutes on the court, Şengün was assisted into a wheelchair with his hands over his face before being transported to the locker room.

Şengün"s departure from the game came with just 39 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, adding a somber note to an otherwise impressive performance.

Before the injury, the third-year center had contributed 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

The Turkish sensation has been enjoying a breakout season with the Rockets, showcasing his versatility on the court. Averaging 21.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game, Şengün has set career highs in all major statistical categories.

The Rockets managed to secure a 112–104 victory against the Sacramento Kings, mounting an impressive 13-point comeback.
