“I think they are rebuilding” Former Cowboys Receiver Dez Bryant Believes Lack of Activity From Organization Could Point to Rebuild in Dallas

A 2023 season that promised so much once again ended with pain and heartbreak for the Dallas Cowboys’ fanbase. The Cowboys have been one of the NFL’s most consistent teams during the regular season but have struggled under the weight and pressure of playoff football.

Over the last three years, the Cowboys have finished 12-5 over three-consecutive regular seasons and won the NFC East on two of those occasions. Led by a talented roster containing Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson, the Cowboys started 10-3 through December 11 in 2023. That included an impressive five game win streak in November and December.

The expectations are always high for Dallas but after a lack of movement during an offseason where other teams have been highly active, concerns remain over the organization’s ability to compete next season.

Legendary Cowboys’ receiver Dez Bryant recently voiced his views after a dull and quiet offseason.

“These past 2-3yrs was the Cowboys best chance to play in the big game,” said Bryant in a recent post on his X account. “I think they are rebuilding in my opinion.”

Jerry Jones has refrained from spending big money this offseason despite previously stating the team was “all-in.” So far, the only move the team has made was re-signing veteran long snapper Trent Sieg.

The Cowboys do have seven picks in the upcoming NFL draft and could look to rebuild for 2024 with younger prospects.

While NFC rivals such as the Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers add talent and depth, the Cowboys seem content to wait it out. With a series of departures and no new signings on the horizon, this team looks far less talented than it did in 2023.
