Seattle Seahawks Add Much-needed Depth at TE Position With Veteran Pharaoh Brown Agreeing to One-year Deal

With the departure of long-serving head coach Pete Carroll, the Seattle Seahawks roster shakeup continues.

On Wednesday, the Seahawks agreed to a one-year contract with 29-year tight end Pharaoh Brown. Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the deal would be worth $3.2 million but the player could earn up to $3.9 million depending on incentives next season.

Brown’s addition comes at a critical stage for a Seahawks team that has already lost Colby Parkinson and Will Dissly during this offseason. The team did re-sign another tight end in Noah Fant this week with the veteran set to return on a two-year, $21 million contract. Both Fant and Brown will be key components in a Seattle roster that will be looking to rebuild for next year.

Brown had a solid college career with the Oregon Ducks but went undrafted in 2017. He was eventually signed by the Oakland Raider as an undrafted free agent.

Since making his NFL debut, Brown has gone on to play 72 career games with the Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans and New England Patriots.

Last season, Brown impressed with the Belichick’s Patriots. He finished the year with 64 receptions for 686 receiving yards and recorded three touchdowns on a Pats offense that struggled most of the year.

The Seattle Seahawks will be looking to improve in 2024 after a disappointing 9-8 season saw them finish third in the NFC West behind the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.
