According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, “The #Bengals just now agreed to terms on a two-year, $26 million deal with DT Sheldon Rankins, sources say. Rankins was selected in 2016 NFL Draft in round one as the twelfth pick by the New Orleans Saints. From 2016 to 2020, he played with the Saints, then joined the New York Jets and played with them from 2021 to 2022. After Jets, he joined the Houston Texans.
He joined the Texans with a one-year, 10.5 million contract last year. In his career, as per ESPN, he has registered 29.5 sacks, 228 tackles, and five forced fumbles through 109 games. With the Jets, he had signed a two-year $17 million contract.
