NFL Updates: Titans signs QB Mason Rudolph to a one-year deal worth up to $3.62 million

On Wednesday, a one-year deal worth up to $3.62 million was drafted between Tennessee Titans and former Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, as per sources.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported the Titans have signed Rudolph, an unrestricted free agent who was pursued seriously by the Steelers this off season.

Rudolph entered free agency During the 2023 off season, after his impressive end to the season, he threw for 716 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions on a 75% completion rate in three starts.

After spending his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the QB is all ready for a fresh start under a new coach, a new offense, and potentially the opportunity to be the primary backup.

In six seasons with the Steelers, he had played in 21 games, starting 13, and totaled 3,085 passing yards with 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading the Steelers to an 8–4–1 record.

Drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft out of Oklahoma State, brought back on a one-year deal, but relegated to a third-string afterthought behind Pickett and Mitch Trubisky.

Last season, he began the year as the third-string quarterback, but soon took over as the starter after Kenny Pickett’s injury and Mitchell Trubisky was benched. In Week 16, he made his first start in 769 days against the Cincinnati Bengals.

In three regular-season starts, Rudolph completed 74.6 percent of his passes for three touchdowns, 684 yards, and a passer rating of 118.5.

General manager Omar Khan previously had made it clear to Rudolph that they wanted him back in 2024 however will join Will Levis in Tennessee’s quarterback room with new head coach Brian Callahan.
