Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Michael Mercado recently shared his admiration for teammate Alec Bohm in an exclusive interview, highlighting Bohm’s athleticism and impact on the team.
Speaking with a senior editor from Overtime Heroics, Mercado discussed the talent within the Phillies roster and singled out Bohm as the standout athlete.
Despite not being intimately familiar with all his teammates, Mercado was quick to recognize Bohm’s prowess on the field.
“I don’t know all the guys all that well, but the guy that jumped out at me while I was there was Alec Bohm,” Mercado revealed.
Bohm, a highly-touted prospect, was drafted third overall by the Phillies in the 2018 MLB Draft and quickly made his mark in the majors.
Since his debut in August 2020, Bohm has solidified his role as the team’s starting third baseman, showcasing his offensive prowess and defensive skills.
During the 2022 season, Bohm played a crucial role in the Phillies’ success, contributing to their National League pennant win and their appearance in the NL Championship Series.
With impressive statistics including a .274 batting average, 20 home runs, and 153 hits, Bohm established himself as a key player in the Phillies lineup.
