Pickett played 24 games and had a 62.6% completion rate, throwing for 4,474 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in his career. This move gives the Eagles an experienced backup QB.

Kenneth Shane Pickett, born on June 6, 1998, is an American football quarterback playing for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award during his senior year.

In the 2022 NFL Draft, Pickett was selected by the Steelers in the first round. Pickett hails from Oakhurst, New Jersey, and graduated from Ocean Township High School in 2017. As a junior, he led his team to the New Jersey Central Group III semifinals, finishing with a 9-2 record.

In his senior year, he was ranked as the No. 23 high school football player in New Jersey by 247Sports. Initially committing to Temple University, Pickett later changed his commitment to the University of Pittsburgh.

Pickett began his college career as a backup in his freshman year at Pittsburgh in 2017 but started his first game in a victory against the Miami Hurricanes. He had a successful season, with 509 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

In 2018, he became Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback, helping them win their first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division Championship. In 2019, Pickett completed 289 of 469 passes for 3,098 yards, leading the team to a 7-5 record.

In a shortened 2020 season due to the pandemic, Pickett threw for 2,408 yards and 13 touchdowns in nine games. He used his extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA to return as the Panthers’ starting quarterback in 2021.

Pickett had a breakout season, setting school records for single-season and career yards and touchdowns.

He was named a first-team All-American and finished in 3rd place for the Heisman Trophy. Pickett led Pittsburgh to an ACC Championship and an 11-2 record in games he started. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and was named the men’s ACC Athlete of the Year in 2021.
