Earlier this year, the 35-year-old guard brought his talents to the Charlotte Hornets, where he appeared in 17 games, averaging 8.3 points within 12.9 minutes per game.
This collaboration followed a mini-tour with 3 separate teams, namely the LA Lakers, Hornets, and the Dallas Mavericks, all under separate 10-day contracts.
Despite the challenges, Thomas never allowed the game to beat him down. with the Salt Lake City Stars, an affiliate of the Utah Jazz in the G League, he made an impressive mark.
During his stint with the Salt Lake City Stars, Thomas averaged an impressive 32.5 points within four games.
His performance stats saw an addition of 5.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. Just hours before the recent contract news dropped, he scored 34-point win for the Stars on Saturday.

After launching his NBA career with the Sacramento Kings in 2011, Thomas set the pace.
However, his career arc was complicated in 2017 via a hip injury while playing for the Boston Celtics.
Playing through hip pain didn’t compromise Thomas’ commitment to the game. He even managed to score 33 points in the Eastern Conference semifinals despite losing a tooth.
Post his injury, his trade to the Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving saw him lose his trade-marked speed.
Despite the unexpected conditions, Thomas didn’t let the 2021-22 season pass him by without a deal.
His comeback path includes stepping stones of several 10-day contracts, all while determinedly chasing his NBA comeback.
Following a 34-point victory with the Stars, Thomas expressed his unrelenting drive to return to the NBA.
“I just love this s too much,” Thomas told The Athletic. “I had a few tough years where sometimes you just feel like quitting because it’s too much. But I always say that’s the easy thing to do. So I just stayed at it, continued to trust the process, continued to enjoy the journey. Whether it was ups or downs, I’m back playing basketball. I’m back healthy. It’s just a super cool feeling because I never thought I would be able to play with no pain no more.”
