The Las Vegas Raiders have gone about their business quietly this offseason with just a handful of low-profile additions. Christian Wilkins was the big name signing this year with the former first-round pick agreeing to a colossal four-year, $110 million contract.
The organization has now fortified their defensive line with confirmation that John Jenkins will be returning for a second season with the team. On Saturday, the reports confirmed the 34-year-old had agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million deal.

Jenkins had an exceptional 2023 season finishing with 61 total tackles over 17 games. He also recovered a fumble and recorded a touchdown during the Raiders’ 63-21 win over the San Diego Chargers.
The Connecticut native attended the University of Georgia before being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the third-round of the 2013 NFL Draft. After making a name for himself with the Saints, Jenkins bounced around the league’s having spells with the Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, New York Giants and Miami Dolphins before ending up with the Raiders. Overall, he has played in a 138 NFL games over a solid 11-year career.
Newly-appointed head coach Antonio Pierce, who was a linebacker himself, seems adamant about prioritizing a resilient defense this offseason. Along with Jenkins and Wilkins, the Raiders also re-signed Adam Butler which gives them one plenty of options at the defensive tackle position. Add to that three-time Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby and fourth-year defensive end Malcolm Koonce, and NFL offenses will find it difficult hold off this mighty defense.
