“You don’t know me like that” Tiki Barber Counters Claims from Former New York Giants Player Ryan Clark he was a Bad Teammate

The NFL may be in the heart of the offseason but that has not stopped two of the game’s most well-known former players from going after each other. The animosity between former New York Giants teammates Tiki Barber and Ryan Clark reached new heights this week with the players exchanging verbal jabs.

Clark’s issue stemmed from Barber’s comments over Saquon Barkley, who recently moved on from the Giants. That led to the former defensive back, who currently works with ESPN, to call out Barber for his conduct and behaviour towards his teammates and particularly younger players, during his playing days.

“I don’t ever want to be that dude. He has continued to be that person,” said Clark. “You also weren’t liked and beloved like Saquon Barkley is.”

Clark was speaking on a recent episode of The Pivot podcast and said Barber continues to conduct himself in the same way with his new media position.

For those that missed it, Barber had a harsh retort for a player he accused of creating a narrative “that fit his agenda.” Speaking on WFAN Sports Radio, Barber did not hold back.

“You don’t know me like that, dude,” said Barber. “He’s making a story that fits his agenda and he doesn’t know me well enough to talk about me, so shut the hell up, Ryan Clark, please, you sound like a fool. It’s an opportunistic shot that he’s taking.”

Barber went on to say that Clark does not know about his prior relationships with players and used former Giants running back Brandon Jacobs as a player he helped during his career.

It has been a disappointing decade for the New York Giants with the team only reaching the playoffs twice. That frustration now seems to be boiling over off the field with former players going at it in a very public setting.
