A ring Kobe won after the Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers for the NBA Championship in 2000, the first of five championships won in his career.
After the win, he gifted the original ring to his father, featuring a band and base of 14K gold and a total of 40 diamonds, and is now headlining an upcoming auction hosted by Goldin.
A highlight of the ring via auctioneer Goldin,
“Obviously proud of winning his very first NBA Championship, Kobe ordered an extra copy of the majestic ring he was issued to give to his father, Joe Bryant, as a special gift. This is not an executive version of the Championship ring, but the same EXACT ring given to Kobe Bryant and other Lakers players.”
The description of the ring, according to the auction hosted by Goldin,
“This ring is in Kobe’s ring size 11 ½ and weighs approximately 59.6 grams. This exquisite ring features a total of 40 diamonds, including five larger round diamonds on either side of the face, which display ‘LAKERS’ filled with purple enamel. ‘WORLD CHAMPIONS’ reads in relief lettering.”
Goldin announced,
“Obtained directly from the Bryant family, this ring is a true one-of-a-kind, and we can confirm that it is the only championship ring ever given by Kobe to his father. This ring comes with a LOA from Pam Bryant.”
According to Business Insider, Kobe’s mother, Pamela Bryant, was gifted an identical ring by her son that sold for $206,000 in 2020 through Goldin Auctions.
In the auctioned ring, gifted to his father, Joe Bryant, seven bids were placed as of Thursday evening, with $54,000 being the highest for The 14-karat gold ring featuring 40 diamonds. Bidding ends March 30 at 10 p.m.
