As its name suggests, the podcast will strive to offer the audience a nuanced perspective of the game by tapping into both players’ extensive experience.
The inaugural episode of Mind the Game will be out on Tuesday, marking the beginning of weekly releases.
It promises an intimate fan experience, offering insights into the drills, triumphs and exigencies of professional basketball.
Mind the Game will be freely available on YouTube along with all significant podcast platforms, ensuring accessibility for basketball fans across the globe.
The podcast, is a brainchild of their respective production houses – James’ Uninterrupted and Redick’s ThreeFourTwo Productions.
“It’s meant to be a very free-flowing conversation about the sport and about the game,” Redick told Marchand of the show. “If you look at it in a very simplistic way, it’s just about basketball.”
This affirms their dedication to the sport and a desire to present it through an untouched lens.
Proud of his raid into sports media, James stated that the litmus test for any project for him is whether it would pique the interest of his friends.
Since Mind the Game passes the test in his view, audiences are in for a treat.
“I’m really proud of what we’ve done to innovate in sports media… When I do a project, the only thing I think about is whether me and my friends would watch it. That is definitely the case with Mind the Game. Everything doesn’t need to be designed for internet culture and clicks.”
.@kingjames and @jj_redick are obsessed with basketball.
Consider their podcast, Mind the Game, a celebration of the sport as they discuss the state of the game, dissect X’s and O’s (like they do here), and wax poetic about the game they love. pic.twitter.com/lDf8ToVlHE
