Known for this sports takes, Smith ventured into the political landscape on this occasion defending former president Donald Trump after a series of media outlets criticised him for a recent speech in Ohio.
The issue stems around Donald Trumps’ use of the word “bloodbath” during his campaign rally in Ohio. Trump was speaking to the crowd about Mexico and China producing cars and sending them into the United States. He insisted that he would put a 100 percent tariff on foreign cars and proceeded to say it would be a “bloodbath” for American if he were not elected. It was clear that Trump was speaking about the auto industry and not the macro picture but many media outlets seem to have taken his words out of context.
