Steve Smith calls Cleveland media clickbait, asks them to stop contacting him about Jerry Jeudy

Last weekend’s trade between the Cleveland Browns and the Denver Broncos, which brought wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to Cleveland, ignited a storm of speculation and analysis.

However, one former NFL player turned analyst, Steve Smith Sr., has made it clear that he’s not interested in being part of the conversation, at least not in the way the Cleveland media wants him to be.

Amid the flurry of inquiries from Cleveland media about Jeudy, Smith took to social media platform X to deliver a stern message.

In a video posted online, the NFL Network analyst expressed his frustration with the barrage of requests, urging the Cleveland media to focus on substantive football talk rather than sensationalism.

“Hey, just need to make an announcement: All y’all Cleveland media need to stop DM’ing, stop hitting my representatives asking would I come on your radio shows and all that stuff to talk about Jerry Jeudy,” Smith asserted.

“So stop trying to use me as your clickbait to get people to listen to your shows. Why won’t y’all start doing your job?”

Smith emphasized the importance of focusing on football analysis grounded in merit rather than resorting to clickbait tactics.

However, some observers have questioned Smith’s stance, given his role as an expert analyst on the NFL Network.

While it’s understandable for Smith to distance himself from his previous conflict with Jeudy, some argue that his insights could provide valuable context for Cleveland fans eager to understand their newest acquisition.
