Sunday’s Western Conference battle between the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets did not disappoint. The matchup went down to the wire with and fans got to experience some of the game’s best players in actions. Kyrie Irving played the role of hero with an incredible left handed shot that decided the tightly contested battle. Irving’s latest minute shot gave the Mavericks a slender 107-105 victory over the defending world champions.

After the memorable finish, NBA analyst Jason Williams former Duke basketball star called Kyrie Irving the most skilled player in the history of the game.

“There is no player in the game of basketball as skilled. Most players cradle the ball, they bring it back to the right hand…You haven’t seen players as guards make shots like that dfrom outside the paint,” said Williams

Kurie reminded fans why teams have been hovering over him and offering massive contracts over the last few seasons. The eight-time NBA All-Star won the NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2012.

Last season, Irving played a limited amount of minutes but has impressed in 2024. This season, he is averaging 25.4 points, 5.3 assist and  5.1 rebounds per game.

The Mavericks currently sit seventh in the Western Conference with a 39-29 record. The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers are currently just three games behind the Mavs. As we approach the final staged of the season, Kyriue will have to be at his best if the Mavericks have a chance at a deep playoff run.
