Per rumors, QB Zach Wilson is likely to change address after the New York Jets signed Tyrod Taylor to be Aaron Rodgers’ backup, a QB from the 2021 draft class waiting for a new home.

As rumored, the Jets are to possibly give a sixth-round pick to get someone to take QB Wilson’s $5.4 million guaranteed compensation package off their hands, 2021 second overall pick.
With how the quarterback market had evolved this off season, Wilson’s trade seems to have spiraled downward even further.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini wrote on Sunday,
“The Jets are trying to find a new home for him, but the trade market hasn’t been kind”
In his three seasons with the Jets, the former second-overall pick had failed to post a winning record as the quarterback (12-21).
Wilson threw more interceptions (25) than touchdowns (23) and his 57 percent completion percentage was among the worst of all starting quarterbacks during the last three years.
He had three seasons to prove himself as a starter so far, but he posted 6,293 yards, 23 touchdowns, 25 interceptions, and a 57 percent completion rate.
In the 2023 campaign, doubt had raised whether Wilson could be a viable backup after Aaron Rodgers’ injury. Although the Jets have not yet traded or cut Zach Wilson, they’ve added a new backup quarterback, 34-year-old Tyrod Taylor.
Wilson would require the Jets to carry his entire $11.2 million salary cap hit as dead money, and one more year of contract seems less realistic.
