“Great recovery” Texans WR Tank Dell’s Talks up Rehab Progress, Optimistic About Returning to Field in Near Future

The Houston Texas were the surprise package of the 2023 NFL season. Few expected a team that started the season with a rookie quarterback and finished 3-13 the year before to win games, let alone win their division and clinch a playoff berth. With several of their key players returning in 2024, the team looks primed for another playoff run.

The news that wide receiver Tank Dell is recovering faster than expected will be music to the ears of Texans fans. After a strong start to the season, the 24-year-old suffered a broken fibula in December that saw him sidelined for the remainder of the year. Dell has been working with the Texans’ training and strength staff and seems optimistic about returning to the lineup in the near future.

“Great recovery,” said Dell, per a recent article on NFL.com. “I’m giving all the props to our training staff and our strength staff. They’ve been getting me on the right road and I feel like I’m back and ready. I’m waiting on the lights to shine again and just to go out there as a team and go complete the mission.”

Fans were not sure what to expect when the Texans drafted Dell in the third round with the 69th overall pick from Houston. Dell did not disappoint finishing with 47 receptions, 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns over just 11 games. The 5’10” receiver was instrumental in guiding the Texans to their first playoff appearance since 2019.

With NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz and Dell all set to return next year, this offense should be one of the more explosive in the AFC.
