“I gotta give it to Collins” Anthony Edwards Tells Young Fan He Is Saving Game Jersey for Jazz’s John Collins After Thunderous Dunk

The Utah Jazz’s John Collins found himself on the receiving end of one of the great poster dunks in NBA history. The 26-year-old forward was the latest victim on Anthony Edwards, who added to an already impressive highlight reel of astonishing dunks.

Getting dunked on in front of 18,206 of your home fans is never fun but there may be a consolation prize coming Collins way. After the game, Anthony Edwards was spotted giving autographs to young fans on his way to the locker room. After signing a pair of shoes, one fan asked for his jersey to which the Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star responded: “I gotta give it to Collins.”

During his postgame interview, Edwards called it the “best dunk” of his career.

The Timberwolves guard had an outstanding night, finishing with 32 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. He finished 13-23 from the field to lead his team to a 114-104 win in Salt Lake City. The victory improves Minnesota to 47-21 and they are now just half a game behind the first place Oklahoma City Thunder in the West.

At just 22 years old, Edwards is already averaging 26.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in his fourth season in the NBA. After this season, it is also safe to say that he has firmly established himself as one of the best dunkers in the game.

It remains unclear whether Edwards was joking or serious about giving his game jersey to Collins, but after a dunk like that, it would be the least he could do.
