A conspiracy theory is like a virus that threatens to catch but never really has a grip on an immune system.
Instead it festers and phantoms its way into the minds of the few, and become urban legend.
The latest theory doing the rounds is surrounding Tom Brady, and the New England Patriots, of course.
Who doesn’t love a waft at the Patriots, with ‘Spygate’ and ‘Deflategate’ popping up whenever the legacy of the team is mentioned.
The fact is the team won six Superbowl ring and Tom Brady was at the heart of the success.
Now a flaw in Brady’s ego is the cause of the latest storm in a teacup after the airing of The Dynasty: New England Patriots.
The pantomime suggests that Brady has never got over their Superbowl LII loss to the Eagles and a touchdown caught by QB Nick Foles off a pass from the Philadelphia tight end in a trick play.
Apparently, Brady did not shake Foles’ hand after the game and snubbed him a few years later.
And now there is the alleged deleted commentary of the game, aired in the series where the commentary was changed from, ” caught… touchdown,” by broadcaster Al Michaels.
The original commentary said, “caught … Foles touchdown.”
For people who suspend reality, the theory goes Brady was sitting in the edit booth and manipulated the commentary.
Oh, how the people hated the Patriots, they still do, and Bill Belichick and Tom Brady will never truly be left in peace.
