In October 2023, the NFL world got a surprise when Chanen Johnson, wife of New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson, took it upon herself to become the league’s newest matchmaker. It all began with a simple direct message she received on Instagram, where someone asked for help in finding an NFL wife, even if it meant being on the practice squad.

Taking this request to heart, Chanen saw an opportunity to play Cupid within the NFL community. Through a video posted on TikTok, she invited people to comment with their favorite tight end’s name, effectively creating a football-themed matchmaking service. Fans were encouraged to participate by leaving comments under the video.

Fast forward six months and Chanen’s matchmaking venture has garnered massive attention. Thousands of emails flood her inbox daily, each containing what she describes as “relationship resumes” from women across the country. These resumes highlight the incredible achievements and personalities of the applicants and that they’re seeking genuine connections.

In an interview with the New York Post, Chanen expressed her and Juwan’s commitment to the matchmaking venture and their sincere intention to help people find love. Despite keeping some details under wraps for now, she assured that they are diligently working behind the scenes to make meaningful matches happen.

Although specific players interested in this matchmaking initiative weren’t revealed, Juwan Johnson confirmed his astonishment at the seriousness of the inquiries.

Chanen has been married to Juwan since February 2020. The pair ventured into parenthood with the birth of their daughter, J’adore Blessing Johnson, on July 8, 2023.

Juwan Johnson’s Team New Orleans Saints: NFL 2023-2024 Season

Juwan’s team, the New Orleans Saints was eliminated from the 2023 NFL playoffs. They needed a combination of wins and losses from other teams in Week 18, but the Green Bay Packers’ victory over the Chicago Bears ended their postseason hopes.

Even though they missed the playoffs, the Saints did finish the season strong with a winning record (9-8) under their new head coach Dennis Allen.

Juwan Johnson NFL Career

Undrafted out of college, Juwan Johnson has become a valuable tight end for the New Orleans Saints. After bouncing between Penn State and Oregon, he signed with the Saints in 2020 and transitioned from wide receiver. His talent peaked in 2023 with career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns, even leading the team in scores. Johnson’s performance earned him a well-deserved contract extension with the Saints in March 2023.
