When Adrian Wojnarowski provides his opinion, basketball fans tend to listen. Better known as “Woj,” the well-known NBA insider is one of the best in the business.
During ESPN’s Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers pregame show on Monday, Woj discussed the meteoric rise of New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and the impact the 27-year-old has had on the franchise.
“Jalen Brunson what he has done for this Knicks organization,” said Wojnarowski. Outside of LeBron James moving in free agency, outside of Kevin Durant moving in free agency, he has been the most impactful free agent maybe of the last decade in the NBA.”
Woj believes that Jalen Brunson is the most impactful NBA free agent signing in the last decade, aside from LeBron James and Kevin Durant 👀

Brunson is only in his second season with the organization but has already surpassed expectatios since arriving from the Dallas Mavericks. He has evolved into one of the most effective scorers in the league and, more importantly, the Knicks are winning games under his leadership.
Since his arrival in the Big Apple, the Knicks have 88-62 record which equates to a .586 win-loss percentage. The franchise has not finished a season with a better percentage than that since the 2012-2013 season. Prior to signing Brunson, the Knicks had managed to qualify for the playoffs just once in nine seasons. It had been an abysmal run packed with poor basketball and constant heartbreak.
This season, Brunson leads the team in scoring(27.6) and assists (6.4). Add to that 3.7 rebounds and a steal per game and it is easy to see why he has become such a fan favorite in New York.
The city was calling out for a hero and Brunson seems to be that saviour for a franchise that was once considered a powerhouse in the NBA.
