Bill Simmons Producing Multi-Part Documentary Series on Boston Celtics

The famed podcaster Bill Simmons’ passion for athletics is well known and according to Jeff Sneider of the InSneider, Simmons is moving forward to pursue his venture, which is a multi-part documentary featuring his beloved team, the Boston Celtics.

He will produce the documentary series for Max and other major details are not yet known. According to Awful Announcing’s Ben Axelrod, the project’s topics are not yet clear, whether it will focus on Celtics complete history or cover a specific period.

The icons of the Celtics, such as Kevin McHale, Larry Bird, and Robert Parish, will probably be featured in the series, and the majority owner of the prominent Boston club, which is currently standing first in the Eastern Conference and is 54-14 for the season, Wyc Grousbeck, disclosed the previous month that the underlying project is tracking the current squad as well.

Grousbeck also shared during “The Greg Hill Show”, “Nothing to officially report yet, but we are in production on a multi-part, absolutely top-quality, fantastic documentary series along the lines of hopefully The Last Dance, and so on.”

He further continued, “We are deep into that. We’ve signed contracts. The film is being filmed and archives are being gone through. And it’s in the process. Really exciting can’t wait for it. And they’re following the team this whole year, behind the scenes. So we’ll see what happens. But win or lose, it’ll be out.”

As indicated by the majority owner’s remarks, the series will also be focused on the Boston Celtics making the run at Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy this year. It will also highlight the history of the squad as well.
