Cleveland Browns and WR Jerry Jeudy have agreed to a three-year contract extension valued at a maximum of $58 million

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has signed a three-year contract extension worth up to $58 million, with $41 million guaranteed at signing, according to multiple reports.

Jeudy, a first-round pick in 2020, was set to become a free agent next year but will now remain with the Browns until 2027. He has recorded 211 career receptions for 3,053 yards and 11 touchdowns in 57 games. Jeudy’s best season came in 2022, when he had 67 catches for 972 yards and six touchdowns.

The Browns acquired Jeudy from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a fifth and sixth-round pick. The team’s top receiver, Amari Cooper, is entering the final year of his contract. The Browns have also extended tight end David Njoku’s contract through 2025.

The full contract details of Jeudy’s extension are not yet known, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that it is worth around $19 million per year. There is speculation that only $28 million of the total guarantee is new money, with the rest potentially tied to his previous contract.

The Browns could not afford to lose all three of their top receivers in free agency, prompting them to extend Jeudy’s deal. Jeudy’s arrival in Cleveland brings hope for a fresh start after underwhelming performances in Denver. The Browns are banking on him becoming a significant contributor as their No. 2 wide receiver.

Jerry Jeudy had his best campaign in 2022, catching 67 passes for 972 yards and six touchdowns. Overall, he has caught 211 passes for 3,053 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career. The Cleveland Browns have signed quarterback Deshaun Watson to a six-year deal worth $230 million guaranteed.
However, Watson has missed games due to suspension and injuries.

In Watson’s starts, Cleveland has averaged 19.7 team offensive points per game, compared to 21.5 points per game with other starting quarterbacks. The Browns are looking to provide Watson with the necessary weapons to succeed.

Last week, the Browns traded for Jeudy, a speedy wide receiver from the Denver Broncos. He has now signed a three-year contract extension with Cleveland, worth up to $58 million with $41 million guaranteed. Cleveland sent draft picks to Denver in the trade. Jeudy expressed his desire to be in a place that values him and considers Cleveland a fresh start.

During his time with the Broncos, Jeudy did not meet expectations. However, he had a career-high season in 2022. The Browns have been interested in Jeudy for some time and finally acquired him. General manager Andrew Berry believes Jeudy’s versatile skills will be a valuable asset to the offense.

At 24 years old, Jeudy is entering his prime, and the Browns are excited to have him for the next several seasons. In his time with Denver, Jeudy recorded 211 catches for 3,053 yards and 11 touchdowns. In the last season, he had 54 receptions for 758 yards and two touchdowns.
