Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts recently paid for the funeral expenses of Jarvon Coles, a star high school linebacker from Houston.

Coles was tragically shot and killed at a house party in Humble, Texas. A two-time first-team all-district linebacker with a 4.1 GPA, Coles was set to play college football at Lamar University.
Hurts decided to cover the funeral costs after hearing about Coles’ death.

The funeral took place on March 16, with many people paying their respects. To honor Coles’ memory, Houston Mayor John Whitmire and Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee declared March 16 as “Jarvon Coles Day.”
Hurts, who played football at a rival high school, made the gesture out of compassion.
Hurts, a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, is known for his successful NFL career with two Pro Bowl selections.
This act of kindness highlights the positive influence that athletes can have beyond their sports careers, offering support and making a difference in their communities during challenging times.
