The draft is just 36 days away and while most prospects are doing everything in their power to impress NFL coaches and scouts, Marvin Harrison Jr. is taking a different approach. Ohio State will be hosting their pro day on Wednesday and Harrison will not work out for scouts at the event.
Harrison also opted to sit out the NFL Draft Combine in February. While many of his peers ran drills and elevated their draft value, the 21-year-old wide receiver chose to not participate.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer insists that the decision to skip workouts for NFL teams makes sense for a player that is considered one of the top wide receiver prospects to come out of college in years.
“He’s preparing for the NFL season, and doing it at OSU, rather than training to run 40s,” wrote Breer. “He asked the 9 teams he met with in Indy if they needed to see anything at Pro Day. They all said no.”

This upcoming draft class has a plethora of talent but with several teams on the lookout for quarterbacks, Marvin Harrison Jr. could drop to the third or fourth pick. USC’s Caleb Williams is expected to be the first overall pick. In any other season, Harrison would likely be a top two pick based on his abilities and unique skillset.
Last season, Harrison finished the season with 67 receptions, 1211 receiving yards and 15 total touchdowns. He was named the the winner of the Fred Biletnikoff Award and selected to the first-team All-Big Ten.
