In a clear case of don’t kill the messenger bit rather them message Benjamin Solak of The Ringer has drawn the ire of NFL fans.
The reporter had the ‘audacity’ of bringing up the controversial decision of the Bears to let go of QB Justin Fields, who has now joined up with the Steelers.
Solak made an impassioned defense of Fields, with many fans accusing him of not being accurate in the past regarding his draft picks of the past.
The veteran did not back down, saying that he loves the ribbing.
“I cannot wait to be the idiot on Justin Fields,” Solak said in a recent podcast, begging NFL fans to keep the hate coming. “I will be an idiot on a quarterback like this every day of the week … I’m going to take the big, fast guy who can chuck it.
“That’s the easiest low-risk, high-reward gamble I will ever take.”
Fans will also be divided and keep the media on their toes, and the to and fro is healthy for the game as it holds reporters to accountability.
