Jets superfan @NYJ_Matt recently made a unique gesture to boost the team’s chances of signing free-agent receiver Mike Williams. Inspired by Williams’ visit to the Jets facility in Florham Park, N.J., @NYJ_Matt ordered a Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich from Morristown Diner via DoorDash, spending a total of $21.32 including fees, taxes, and tip. Despite the seemingly unconventional move, @NYJ_Matt explained that the sandwich is a quintessential New Jersey breakfast item and expressed a willingness to go to great lengths to increase the odds of Williams signing with the Jets, even if it’s by a small margin.
@NYJ_Matt, who boasts a significant following on social media platforms like X and runs a YouTube channel dedicated to the Jets, opted to remain anonymous due to privacy concerns related to his employment. However, he was eager to share his reasoning behind the sandwich choice, citing its popularity in North Jersey as the primary factor.

The Jets’ official social media account joined in on the fun, posting a photo of the sandwich delivered to the facility’s main lobby. @NYJ_Matt’s specific instructions to the delivery driver included handing the sandwich to the designated recipient with a playful message emphasizing the allure of catching passes from star quarterback Aaron Rodgers compared to rookie Bryce Young.
Williams, who is also reportedly considering visits to other teams like the Panthers and the Steelers, received the sandwich as planned, with a photo of the security guard holding the bag serving as confirmation.
