“Only hit anything that was negative” Former New England Players Critical of How Patriots Dynasty Portrayed in Latest Documentary

The highly anticipated documentary The Dynasty: New England Patriots was released last month and not everyone is happy with the final product.

The 10-part series from Apple TV offers an inside look at the Patriots dynasty that included some of the game’s greatest players and coaches. During a dominant 20-year spell, Bill Belichick’s Pats went on to win six Super Bowls and reach the prestigious event on another three occasions.

Devin McCourty and Rodney Harrison were both around for that special run. During a recent conversation on NBC Sports, the two former players outlined what they thought was missing from the Patriots documentary.

“I felt like I got kind of duped,” said McCourty. “Everything that we all gave to the 20 years that it encompassed, they only hit anything that was negative.”

McCourty was with the Patriots between 2010-2022 and won three Super Bowls with the organization as a safety.

Rodney Harrison played 63 games with the organization and won two Super Bowls. His issues with the documentary stem from the way legendary manager Bill Belichick was portrayed.

“They act like the last three or four years cause the Patriots have struggled that Bill can’t coach,” said Harrison. “He gave Tom Brady and opportunity. He gives guys who are the underdog an opportunity. “When everybody else is done with a guy, he brings in a Corey Dillion, he brings in a Randy Moss, he brings in a Rodney Harrison. And I just don’t think he got enough credit, enough respect, enough props. This dude is the greatest coach of all-time.”
