Fans living outside of the state of Indiana may have missed the story of how Indianapolis Colts Anthony Richardson played the role of good neighbor. The quarterback, who is about to start his second season with the franchise, came across a member of the community that needed some help and didn’t hesitate to do the right thing.

Parker Suddeth found himself in a difficult spot when his tire blew out on Interstate 65. Per Fox 59, he spent over 20 minutes on the highway trying to grab the attention of a passer-by for assistance. Luckily for Suddeth, Richardson happened to be in area and spotted him.

The 21-year-old quarterback quickly realized the young man did not have the right tools and offered to lend him money and drive him to an auto repair shop.

Suddeth initially had no idea who was assisting him before the two struck up a conversaion.

“I asked, ‘Hey, what do you do for a living?’ He said, ‘I’m a football player.’ I said, ‘Really?’ He said, ‘Ya, I play for the Colts,'” said Suddeth. That is when Suddth took it upon himself to look up Richardson and realized he is the quarterback of the team. “Wow, I guess I’m a fan now,” added Suddeth.

Richardson was only drafted by the Colts organization in April, 2023 and in less than a year is becoming a real fan favorite in the area. The dual-threat quarterback dazzled fans with his speed and arm strength last year and it will be exciting to see whether he can repeat those same highs this year. Off the field, Richardson has also had an impact with fans like Parker Suddeth a new recruit for the Colts fanbase.
