The Pro-Bowl and multiple award winning quarterback, Jameis Winston, had earlier shared positive feelings regarding his time the New Orleans Saints; however, he does not wish to remain a backup quarterback.
As per SI’s Kyle T. Mosley, the player shared his appreciation for “the culture and the integrity that this city possesses” but he also revealed his goals in the league. Winston had mentioned, “However, my goal is to be, and my desire is to be, a Super Bowl-winning starting quarterback in this league. Right now, that doesn’t look like a very clear picture with the New Orleans Saints.”
The former free agent has landed a one year contract with the Cleveland Browns, as their star quarterback, Watson, had been restricted over the last two campaigns due to injuries and suspensions. He had made 12 starts.

In 2023, Watson suffered a shoulder injury, which ended his season; however, he is expected to start throwing as soon as he completes his rehabilitation. Winston also recently mentioned that his desire to start the games won’t derail his plan of helping and assisting Watson.
According to PFT via Akron Beacon Journal, Winston shared, “The most important thing, I believe, is the relationship between me and Deshaun is in a place where it will continue to grow and flourish. I just admire him as a person and, definitely, as a football player. I look forward to allowing him to lean on me for anything that he needs. And also encouraging him and providing him with different resources that he probably hasn’t gotten from people who have been in the same room as him.”
The Browns in the last campaign had signed Joe Flacco after they went with both P.J. Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who was later ruled out due to a concussion. Flacco was incredibly impressive with the Browns and also won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award as well.
