As Spring blooms and Opening Day looms, the buzz around Fenway Park seems conspicuously absent, raising questions about the state of Boston Red Sox fandom.
Reporter Mary Markos, ventured to Fenway Park to gauge the pulse of the fans and uncover their sentiments towards the upcoming season.
Mary Markos encountered a surprising sentiment among fans at Fenway Park, with many displaying a notable lack of enthusiasm for the impending Opening Day.
“Well, if you walk around Fenway Park here and talk to people, you"ll find not only are they unaware of Opening Day, many of them can"t even name a current Red Sox player," reported Markos.
"Opening Day is right around the corner, however, no one seems to be talking about the Red Sox. We sent our Mary Markos out to Fenway Park to find out if anyone cares."

Engaging with fans, Markos found a disconnect between the fervor of past seasons and the current ambivalence.
“How many current players can you name on the Red Sox?" she inquired. The responses were telling. “Damn, I"m blanking right now," admitted one fan.
Another fan reminisced about the glory days of Red Sox baseball, recalling the excitement of watching Pedro Martinez take the mound.
However, the same fervor seems to be absent this season. “Usually other years like I kind of hear about it or like people are talking about it. But this year I didn"t even know that they were like starting. I had no idea," shared another fan.
The lack of anticipation for the upcoming season is reflected in ticket prices, which are remarkably low compared to previous years.
“In fact, you can find ticket prices for regular season games as low as $11.00 on Vivid Seats," noted Markos.
Critics attribute this decline in fan engagement to a perceived lack of investment by Red Sox ownership in fielding a competitive team.
“Sox ownership has not spent money to put a representative team on the field, and this is how you end up with this, sort of," remarked Markos, underscoring the frustration among fans with the team"s performance and management decisions.
