Excited NCAA Wrestling National Champion Accidentally Drops F-Bomb in Post-match Interview

ESPN extensive coverage continues to provide fans with access to a wide range of sports. This week, the NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championships were featured with Virginia Tech’s Caleb Henson facing off against University of Michigan’s Austin Gomez at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

After surrendering the first takedown, Henson bounced back to take an early 6-3 lead and then increase that to 13-4. The Virginia Tech star held off his opponent for 15-7 win to take the national title in the 149-pound weight class. The Cartersville native become the first ever national champion out of the state of Georgia.

After the victory, the young man was surrounded by excited teammate as he made his way over for an interview with ESPN’s Quint Kessenich. This was Henson’s first national championship and it would have been understandable if the emotions got the best of him. That is exactly what happened when the young man accidentally said the f-word on television.

“Those are my boys, those are my brothers….those are my f****** guys,” said Henson.

In fairness to Henson, he did apologize immediately after using the word, acknowledging that he had maybe stepped over the line.

Virginia Tech fans seemed unconcerned with the profane language after their young star brought a title to Blacksburg, Virginia, becoming only the second Hokie wrestler to win the national championship.
