Pittsburgh’s NFL star, T.J. Watt, is no stranger to personal accolades during his professional football career.

However, one area where Watt is yet to find success is the ever-elusive playoff victory. In a candid admission, Watt expressed his eagerness for a playoff win, pinning his hopes on the performances of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

During the 101 Awards held in Kansas City, Watt said, “I’m excited for both of them” because they’ve both played at a “high level” in the NFL.

Watt wishes to learn from their experiences and aims to acquaint them with the Pittsburgh Jersey, hoping to infuse new energy into the team.

“I’m just hoping that I can learn something from those guys and hopefully, show them how things are done in Pittsburgh as well, what we’ve been doing,” Watt said, via PJ Green of Fox4 in Kansas City.

Reflecting on his quest for a playoff win, he stated, “I haven’t won a playoff game my whole career, so I’m open to any type of information, where we can continue to get better. Hopefully, those guys can help us do that. . . . It’s tough.

It’s a very tough, competitive league. There’s so much parity, especially in our division. You look at all the quarterbacks. I’m just glad that we have one. It’s all about staying healthy and being on the rise. And that’s what we have to do this year.”

While Watt refrained from commenting directly about the quarterbacks Pittsburgh deployed in recent years, his interview echoed the dissatisfaction over Pittsburgh’s performance.

There’s palpable anticipation about the potential changes Wilson and Fields could bring to the table.
