Brandon Ingram Injury Update: Pelicans all-star forward suffers bone contusion in left knee, will miss two weeks

The New Orleans Pelicans are currently in fifth place in the Western Conference and in the season, they are 44-27. They recently defeated the Detroit Pistons with a concluding score of 101-114.

One of the key players for Pelicans has been forward Brandon Ingram and the All-Star player suffered an injury against the Orlando Magic. He also underwent an MRI after he hyperextended his knee during the match. He was taken off the court with assistance.

The result of the MRI was a left knee bone contusion and the player will be evaluated in two weeks. The player sustained the injury when he was positioned against Jalen Suggs. Suggs had the ball and was racing towards the hoop and both players collided.

The impact was taken by his knee and it appeared that his left knee was extended in the movement. After the collision, he went down the floor and was in extreme pain. He was not able to walk on his own and was helped by his teammates.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported, “Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram has suffered a bone contusion in his left knee. Fortunate diagnosis for New Orleans and its star forward avoiding serious injury, but Ingram is expected to miss at least two weeks.”

As per New Orleans Pelicans, “Brandon Ingram underwent an MRI after

hyperextending his left knee during the third quarter of last night’s game against the Orlando Magic.

The results of the MRI revealed a left knee bone contusion.

Ingram will be re-evaluated in two weeks

and additional updates will be appropriately provided.”

The Pelicans in the next match will face the Oklahoma City Thunder and then the Milwaukee Bucks. For the time being, the Pelicans will rely on Trey Murphy III, who will start in the forward position.
