Can Mike Tyson really knock the block off Jake Paul?
The matchup of boxing legend Mike Tyson and upstart Jake Paul will only take place late hill at the AT&T Stadium in Texas but it is still filling social media pages every day.
Tyson released new training footage over the weekend and the 57-year-old is looking menacing. As menacing as any 57-year-old can be against a boxer 30 years their junior.
“Fighting is a sport: if you’re not humble, it’s going to bring humbleness to you,” Tyson posted on snapchat.
Paul is a YouTube sensation that has taken his boxing seriously but had only really fought one boxer, losing to Tommy Fury.
He beats aged MMA legends mostly and while many think the Tyson match up will be constrained by legalese, then they don’t know Tyson.
He is still the same person who bit off a chunk of Evander Holyfield’s ear in a match.
If Tyson can dispense the magic mushroom then he could well knock out Paul.
The smart money will be on Paul, who is likely to dance around Iron Mike for the first few rounds and then catch the aging former world champion in the latter rounds. But there is always the adage of a fighting chance.
Tyson will be the popular winner as it is a lose-lose for Paul. If he wins, then he will have the asterisk of fighting an old man, if he loses, well that could put paid to his hopes of fighting for a title one day.
Social media is ablaze, Netflix, as the broadcaster will smile all the way to the bank, as with both fighters.
