“I’m not going to let Washington Post attack this university, this awesome team or me without a fight”- LSU Tigers HC Kim Mulkey takes bold stance against ‘Hit Piece’ on her

The seven-time Big 12 coach of the year and three-time AP college basketball coach of the year, Kim Mulkey, has recently shared her opinions regarding the Washington Post and their upcoming piece on her.

One of the most decorated women’s basketball coaches, Mulkey, has also further stated that she will use legal action against the paper as well. LSU, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, has recently defeated the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders women’s basketball team with a concluding score of 83-56.

During the NCAA Tournament media session, Mulkey further gave a final note and also mentioned that a reporter has made multiple attempts to talk to her for the past two years.

According to Awful Announcing, Mulkey shared, “The lengths he has gone to try and put a hit piece together. This reporter has been working on a story about me for two years. After two years of trying to get me to sit with him for an interview, he contacts LSU on Tuesday, as we were getting ready for the first round game of this tournament, with more than a dozen questions, demanding a response by Thursday, right before we were scheduled to tip-off. Are you kidding me?”

Further continuing, “This was a ridiculous deadline that LSU and I could not possibly meet, and the reporter knew it. It was just an attempt to prevent me from commenting and an attempt to distract us from this tournament. It ain’t gonna work, buddy.”

“Unfortunately, this is part of a pattern that goes back years. I told this reporter two years ago that I didn’t appreciate the hit job he wrote on Brian Kelly and that’s why I wasn’t going to do an interview with him.”

“This is exactly why people don’t trust journalists and the media anymore. It’s these kinds of sleazy tactics and hatchet jobs that people are tired of. I’m fed up, and I’m not going to let the Washington Post attack this university, this awesome team or me without a fight.”

The basketball head coach, however, did not name the reporter directly but also mentioned in her remarks that she was not in favor of this interview because she did not like what he wrote regarding Brian Kelly.
