Head Coach Brian Daboll, confirmed Daniel Jones remains the New York Giants" starting quarterback upon his recovery from injury.

Contrary to swirling rumors questioning Jones" position in light of his injury, Daboll asserted that there is no plan for a drastic change in the line-up once Jones recovers from his ailment.

The Giants gloveman suffered a severe torn ACL injury during the ninth week of the 2023 regular NFL season, creating uncertainty surrounding his return date.

Medical professionals, conscientious of Jones" well-being, have yet to clear him to play until he fully recovers, even though the new season kicks off in September 2024.

There seems to be a deputation plan in place, with the Giants announcing their sign-off on a one-year contract with former Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock.

With Jones" seat temporarily vacant, this experienced player will likely take the reign until the usual starter regains control.

NFL Network’s Insider Tom Pelissero received confirmation from Daboll himself about this development.

We’re excited to have Drew [Lock], and he knows what his role is going to be. He’s going to get a lot of reps this spring, he needs to learn our system, but again excited to get Daniel back, when he gets back he’ll be the guy. Brian Daboll said

Despite the Giants" previous season not ending with a winning record, Daboll was quick to dismiss rumours that Jones was at fault.

The Giants" management is keen on giving Jones enough time for a full recovery, so he can regain his leadership role when he bounces back.
