Jeremy Sochan’s clutch shot wins helping the Spurs hold on for 104-102

The San Antonio Spurs emerged victorious over the Phoenix Suns with a 104-102 win, thanks to Jeremy Sochan’s game-winning 3-pointer in the final minute.

The Spurs played without rookie Victor Wembanyama, who was sidelined with a sprained ankle.

San Antonio went on a 16-0 run in the third quarter and beginning of the fourth to take a nine-point lead. However, the Suns fought back and took the lead with 52 seconds left, only for Sochan to hit the decisive shot from beyond the arc.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker missed 3-pointers in the final sequence, securing the win for the Spurs. Sochan also achieved a career-high 18 rebounds, while Devin Vassell contributed 26 points. Booker finished with 36 points for the Suns.

The Spurs dominated the first quarter but let the Suns back into the game in the second quarter, with Booker and Durant leading the charge. San Antonio rallied in the third quarter and held on for the win.

After suffering a blowout loss to the Suns in their previous game, the Spurs stepped up their game and capitalized on Phoenix’s lackluster performance.

The Suns struggled on both ends of the court, while the Spurs played with intensity and capitalized on their opponent’s mistakes. Despite the Suns’ comeback in the second quarter, the Spurs maintained their lead and ultimately came out on top.

In a game between a strong team and a weaker team without a key player, it is expected that the strong team will eventually take control and win. This was the case on Monday when Kevin Durant led his team to a big lead.

However, the San Antonio Spurs didn’t give up easily. They fought back by attacking the paint and preventing the deficit from growing. When Durant took a break, the Phoenix Suns struggled on offense and the Spurs took advantage, closing the period strongly and taking the lead.

In the fourth quarter, the Suns continued to struggle while the Spurs built a nine-point lead. Devin Booker tried to carry his team, but the Suns lacked the energy and defense to compete.

The game remained close until the final minutes when Jeremy Sochan hit a clutch three-pointer to put the Spurs ahead. The defense held strong in the final possession, securing revenge for the Spurs after their previous loss.

Sochan had a standout performance, defending Durant and making key plays. Zach Collins filled in well for an injured player, while Devin Vassell and Blake Wesley made important contributions off the bench.

Some players, like Julian Champagnie and Tre Jones, struggled, but others stepped up.

The Spurs will now face the Jazz on the road after an extended homestand.
