Pete Rose shares humorous take on Shohei Ohtani-Ippei Mizuhara sports betting saga

Legendary baseball player Pete Rose, infamous for his ban from Major League Baseball due to betting on baseball games, recently offered his humorous perspective on the ongoing sports betting saga involving Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and his former translator, Ippei Mizuhara.

In a short video clip, Rose quipped, “Well, back in the 70s and 80s, I wish I had an interpreter. I"d be scot-free."

This tongue-in-cheek remark highlights Rose"s recognition of the advantages an interpreter might have provided during his own playing and managerial career, particularly in navigating the complexities of sports betting.

Despite his illustrious career as the MLB"s all-time hits leader, Rose remains ineligible for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame due to his association with gambling on baseball games.

Rose"s banishment from the league in 1989 stemmed from allegations of betting on games while serving as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds.

After years of denial, Rose eventually admitted to gambling on baseball in 2004, further solidifying his status as one of the most controversial figures in baseball history.

Meanwhile, the sports world is currently embroiled in the controversy surrounding Shohei Ohtani and his denial of involvement in sports gambling, as well as allegations against his former translator, Ippei Mizuhara.

Ohtani vehemently denied any wrongdoing during his recent media appearance, asserting that Mizuhara had deceived him and misappropriated funds.
