Former Jacksonville Jaguars staffer who hacked jumbotron sentenced to 220 years behind bars

Former Jacksonville Jaguars staffer Samuel Thompson was sentenced to 220 years behind bars for sex offenses.

The contractor, who started work in Jacksonville I’m 2013 was fired in 2018 after finding out he was a registered sex offender, and he acted out against the franchise by tampering with the jumbotron.

He allegedly added remote access software to the jumbotron, and following his dismissal he thrice used the software to cause malfunctions with the scoreboard during games.

His house was raided by the FBI and thousands of underage sexual activities was found at his residence as well as software used for hacking.

This news comes amid another former employee charged with stealing $20 million from the team to fund a gambling habit and a luxurious lifestyle including jet hire, cars and spa treatments.
