Free Agent RB J.K. Dobbins Cleared for Football Activities After Achilles Injury

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recipient, and free agent running back J.K. Dobbins tore his Achilles Tendon in the opening game against the Houston Texans, which ended his season.

In September he was added on the injured reserve and the NFL Network Insider, Tom Pelissero had recently shared that he has been cleared by Dr. Neal ElAttrache and will soon begin his free agency visits.

Pelissero wrote, "Free-agent RB J.K. Dobbins has been cleared for football activities, Dr. Neal ElAttrache wrote in a letter to select teams today, noting Dobbins looks "outstanding" coming off a torn Achilles.

Dobbins, who averages 5.8 ypc in his career, is expected to take visits soon."

After suffering the injury he underwent surgery and was in the rehabilitation process. However, he has been medically cleared and regarding the possibility of his and Dalvin Cook’s return to the squad, head coach John Harbaugh had mentioned via Baltimore Ravens, "We"re just going to see how that shakes out. There are some moving pieces to that part, and I"ll just let Eric [DeCosta] handle that. If we bring someone back, if we bring one of those two guys back, I"d be happy to do it. If we"re not able to do it, we"ll find some young guys."

In 2020 as a rookie he rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns as per Pro Football Talk. Before the injury happened, Dobbins registered 22 rushing yards and a touchdown.
